For the golf enthusiast, there are several excellent courses in the Lake Maggiore vicinity, most notably Golf Club Des Iles Borromées which is just a short drive away from Casa Bellavista. (That’s by car, not by golf club!) Green fees are very reasonable and there’s also a 9 hole ticket which allows you to fit in a few quick holes without it taking up the whole morning or afternoon. Also well worth playing and literally just ten minutes drive from Casa Bellavista is the excellent 9 hole course Alpino Golf Club of Stresa where the first three Italian Opens were actually held from 1925-27. You can choose whether to play 9 or 18 holes for very reasonable green fees indeed and clubs can be hired for just 8 Euros. So if you don’t want the hassle of bringing your own clubs, and you just want a quick round of golf, the Alpino could be ideal for you.
